Eric Himan
Eric toured constantly for three years, putting 190,000 miles on his minivan, until taking a break last year. Now he is "back out on the highway looking for adventure" on a nationwide tour.
Riffin' caught up with him for a quick chat and a look back at how he got started. Check out more at erichiman.com.
Riffin': ow long have you been performing?
Eric: I have been performing professionally since I was 18. I learned how to play the guitar at eight years old and then started singing in high school.

Riffin': How would you describe your sound?
Eric: I am a very acoustic/folky player, but when it comes to singing I love the blues. You will definitely hear a collaboration between those styles in my songwriting.
Riffin': How do crowds react to your heartfelt lyrics?
Eric: Crowds have been amazing! You write these songs in your room about personal feelings and when someone relates to it, it takes the whole thing to a new level. It is the best feeling when someone gets how you feel.
Riffin': What musicians have influenced you?
Eric: God, so many. Nina Simone's attitude toward songwriting, Etta James' voice, Ani DiFranco's lyrics and playing. Many women actually have influenced me.
Riffin': What are your upcoming tour dates where people can see you?
Riffin': Any funny acedotes from the road (a crazy fan, a horrible venue, etc)?
