Rock chicks and disco freaks know that glitter and music are inseparable. In the heydays of both Glamrock and Disco, both women and men wore glitter, sequins, metallic fabrics, basically anything that sparkled and shined. These fashions and make-up made the scene, and legendary times were had by all!
Become the latest recruit of the quickly growing Sparkle Army! Here's how:
Sparkle Step #1:
Use a pencil eyeliner with glitter in it. Kick it up a notch by smudging it with your finger- that really gets the sparkle shining! Or use liquid eyeliner with glitter to create a "sequined" cat-eye.

Sparkle Step #2:
Use eye shadow with glitter mixed into the powder. Fair warning: not all are created equal so try before you buy to make sure it has the desired effect. All of Urban Decay's products are tops, but their Heavy Metal Glitter Eye Gel & Liners rate "Sparkle Army 4 Star General." Check them out at www.urbandecay.com.
Sparkle Step #3:
Use a glitter lip-gloss. They are like liquid sequins for your mouth! One word of caution: lipsticks made with glitter never look sparkly enough when applied. To help mash some loose glitter over your lipstick. It's not comfortable to wear but it looks great, and a million drag queens can't be wrong!
For a modern approach, try Revlon's limited edition "Sugar Sugar Lip-Topping." It's a fine, iridescent sparkle to "topcoat" your lip color and comes in 4 magical pastel shades. You can find out where to buy at www.revlon.com.
Sparkle Onslaught:
For true superstar level, mash dry glitter into a cream shadow over your entire eyelid. Iridescent ones work great because they pick up the base shadow color. You also don't have to worry so much about spillover onto the face, as the little sparkle debris looks great! Shimmer powders also add impact when brushed over the brow and cheekbone.
To really slaughter them with sparkle, mix different textures and colors of glitter. For example, use fine glitter on most of the lid and then incorporate some larger, chunkier glitter around the outer part of the eye.
