More pleather than leather and more electro-trash than electro, brand-spanking-new UK import Temposhark has already seduced English hipsters with dirty electronic buzzes sandwiched between soaring synthetic highs that practically boast faux-hawks and razor cheekbones of their own. Temposhark's biting lyrics and saucy sleaziness blends perfectly with its flirty, pouty lineup of hip hotties who are already causing a stir with their seedy, sexy sound and undeniable star power.
UK natives with backgrounds in art forms ranging from graffiti to fashion, Temposhark's cutting edge sound is right on the pulse of European underground rhythm and beat and already attracting über-famous fans (such as Bjork and Placebo, to name a few).
After the release of a couple stellar EP's that were immediately a hit on the English alt-electro scene, Temposhark is finally ready to let loose their long-anticipated full debut album entitled "The Invisible Line," packed with Temposhark's instantly recognizable reinvented, hyped-up vintage sound that brings out the trash in smashing electro pop.
Glam-rock and eyeliner are easily paired with slick urbane ballads in "The Invisible Line," which demonstrates a versatility that flawlessly navigates sassy funky bass lines, vocals drenched in wit and irony and bewitching melodies all in one cohesive and spellbinding album. Flashes of Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and Goldfrapp all twinkle within the gem of "The Invisible Line," whose multi-faceted sound turns on a dime, ranging from whips and chains to ethereal violin solos (courtesy of virtuoso Sophie Solomon).
Even angst rock makes a short cameo in "Not That Big" (as does Grammy nominated electro-star Imogen Heap), adding another deeply sensitive and delicate layer to Temposhark's sound. But not to worry—Temposhark's short jaunts into serious electro balladry don't dilute any of the biting irony that saturates the band's signature hard rockin' tracks. Raw, urbane and utterly kick ass, Temposhark revels in unabashed hedonistic musical indulgence, creating a sound full of sexy synth and hard-cut pop that is deliciously nasty and completely irresistible.
